IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS . . .
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our dear member and Marin MTAC past-president Martha Thomas. She passed from this earth on 12 January 2006 as a result of complications from a long struggle with breast cancer. We remember her as a very gentle and loving person, an active music teacher and a dear friend. Our thoughts and good intentions are with her family during this time. She will be greatly missed.

STUDENT BAROQUE FIELD TRIP
On Saturday 4 February 2006 students, teachers and parents were the guests of Gilbert Martinez at MusicSources, 1000 The Alameda, Berkeley for a playful “romp” through the wonderful world of baroque keyboard instruments. Mr. Martinez (we remember his fabulous performance on the Italian harpsichord at our last Scholarship Benefit Concert) gave an exciting and fascinating overview of MusicSources’ exciting collection of 17th, 18th and 19th century keyboard instruments. The audience even played the W. A. Mozart game “to compose without the least knowledge of Music so much German Walzer or Schleifer as one pleases, by throwing a certain Number with two Dice” with the resulting audience “composed” waltz played on the harpsichord by Mr. Martinez. All students were encouraged to play the instruments to their hearts content. It was great fun!
MTAC STATE ADULT PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

Performers in the recital may be selected to play the in the Adult Performance Recital at the MTAC State Convention.
