Sylvia Jenkins Teachers Workshop

MTAC Marin Branch is pleased to sponsor Sylvia Jenkins in the workshop Is There Life After Op 47 No2: What and How? Through lecture, demonstrations and ample time for lively discussion, Ms. Jenkins will share her tried and true methods for advancing students through the fascinating maze of mid-intermediate to advanced level piano repertoire. This is your chance to ‘pick Sylvia’s brain’ and ask those many questions about Sylvia’s repertoire choices to progress a student from mid-intermediate to more advanced piano literature. Sylvia will provide a handout of her most successful teaching pieces.  Come and bring your friends!

Scholar Benefit Concert

We remind you the annual Scholarship Benefit Concert is scheduled for Sunday 5
November. This is our main fund-raising event for both Discovery and Merit Scholarship Programs. Since the program is diverse, please encourage your students and their families to attend. We have an outstanding program planned!

What: Scholarship Benefit Recital

Where: United Methodist Church
410 Sycamore Avenue, Mill Valley, California
Ticket Prices: $15 General, $10 Seniors/Studens, $25 Families of 3 or more

As a result, in the next week you will receive in the mail a letter with 2 tickets to this concert. We would like you to purchase or sell these tickets. And please attend the concert!

Currently we are looking for a new Composers Today Chairperson.  This is an exciting position.  The Chair acts as a liaison between the State Composers Today Program and the branch. The Composers Today Program is not just for children. Awards on the State level are extended to adults as well. Anyone interested in becoming our branch Composers Today Chair, please contact Janice Clark jblegend@aol.com (721-0635).
