TIME-SENSITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

2010 Teacher Survey

Since 1992, the Marin branch has conducted a survey of its members approximately every three years. This survey has proven to be an invaluable tool for our members (and other teachers in Marin), because it gives a good snapshot of the the state of the music teaching business in the county at the time it is done. The last one was done in spring 2007.

This year the survey is online (although we will be mailing a paper copy to those teachers who do not have access to computers or who request a hard copy by calling Chris Bradley at 302-0396).

An online survey makes it easier for you to respond and guarantees that the survey will be completely anonymous, since there are no handwritten answers and no postal zip codes or any other way to identify who has responded. Since all responses are anonymous, we hope that everyone will participate. The more responses we get from our members, the more accurate the survey will be. The site is fully encrypted, so no unauthorized persons will see your data.

We have EXTENDED the deadline to 11:59:00 PM, January 31, 2010.

Membership Secretary Christina Bradley has sent an email reminder to all members, including the link to the survey and the password. This is a duplicate of an email sent on Thursday December 3rd. Please open that email, click on the link, enter the password and take the survey.

The results will be available in February.

Go to your email and find the email sent Thu 12/03/09 12:35 PM from the MTAC Marin Branch (mtacmarin@gmail.com) for all the information or copy and paste the below address to your browser.

TEACHER 2 TEACHER

The November Teacher To Teacher was lively and interesting. One of the many topics we talked about was memorizing-how we do it ourselves, how we teach it to our students. It was great morning. Everyone left with new energy and ideas about their teaching.

If this sounds interesting to you, please join us! The next Teacher To Teacher will be on Friday, January 22nd from 9:30am-11am.

It will be hosted by Marie Carbone. Please email her by January 20th at mmarguerite@yahoo.com if you plan to attend. And why not invite a fellow teacher to come with you!

Start the new year off by getting together with your colleagues to share thoughts and ideas about teaching music.

Friday morning not a good time? Let Marie know what time would work for you.
